Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Octavia's translation accuracy, voice preservation, and billing.

Octavia translates and dubs across 60+ languages — including Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Arabic, and more — with automatic source-language detection. Every plan includes the full language library, so you can localize a single video into as many languages as your credits allow.
Credits are Octavia's single, shared currency across every workflow — video dubbing, audio translation, subtitles, and subtitle-to-audio all draw from the same monthly balance, so you spend it however suits your work. Each plan includes an allowance (Starter 6,000, Creator 12,000, Pro 30,000, Studio 120,000), and new accounts get 500 free credits each month to try the platform.
Subscriptions are handled securely through Stripe, so we accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) and supported regional payment methods. Billing is monthly and your details can be updated at any time. Enterprise customers can arrange custom invoicing by contacting our team.
Yes. Octavia is modular — you can run a single workflow on its own. Generate or translate subtitles without dubbing, translate an audio track without touching the video, or produce a transcript only. You're never required to run the full dubbing pipeline, and you only spend credits on the steps you actually use.
Credits are charged per minute of media processed, and the rate depends on the workflow: video translation 100 credits/min, audio translation 80, subtitle-to-audio 60, subtitle translation 25, and subtitle generation 20. You'll see an estimated cost before confirming a job, and any job that fails is automatically refunded.
Yes — cancel anytime from your billing page, with no contracts and no cancellation fees. When you cancel, your account returns to the free tier and its 500 monthly credits, and you keep access to your existing projects. There's zero lock-in: your videos, audio, subtitles, and transcripts remain exportable at any time.
Yes. On Pro and above, Octavia automatically detects and separates different speakers, giving each their own voice in the translated output so conversations stay natural. It's built for interviews, panels, podcasts, and any content with more than one voice — and you can adjust speaker assignments if you need to.
Your monthly plan credits refresh at the start of each billing cycle and don't carry over, so they're designed to be used within the month. Any additional credits you top up separately stay on your balance and aren't wiped by the monthly reset. If you regularly have credits left over, a smaller plan may be the better fit.
Nothing breaks — new jobs simply pause until you have enough credits again. You can either wait for your monthly allowance to refresh, or upgrade your plan to unlock a larger balance instantly. Your existing projects and outputs remain fully accessible the whole time.
The single-job cap is the maximum length of one source file you can submit in a single job. Creator handles source files up to 90 minutes, while Pro and Studio go up to 10 hours per file. Longer libraries are no problem — split them across multiple jobs, or talk to us about Enterprise for custom limits.
Anytime, in a single click from your billing page. Upgrades take effect right away so you get the larger credit balance immediately, while downgrades apply at your next renewal so you keep what you've paid for through the current cycle. Your usage and history carry across the change.
Yes. Pro and Studio handle source files up to 10 hours long, and our distributed GPU processing turns hours of footage around in minutes rather than days. Whether it's a feature-length film, a full course, or a long podcast, long-form content is fully supported — and credits scale by duration, so you only pay for what you process.
